My new house will have networking jacks on each floor. Because of the limited range of the TiBook's airport range, i thought I would place a base station on each floor. The network panel is supposed to bein the basement, which I think will have a router. I think that is where I need to put the cable modem of DSL modem. So now I guess I can hook up a base station to a jack on each floor and therefore be able to roam the whole house. Is it that easy, or are there some tricks? I currently have a snow base station, and I thought I would add an extreme base with the printer sharing feature in my home office.
Also, how can I configure a cheap pc (or linux box) with a large hard drive to use for backup storage or as a server? I guess that would be hard wired (ethernet) to the network and can be kept in the basement (where I think the router will be).
I'm sure there are a few hundred folks have tried this before, and I am interested to see if I am on the right track on this issue.

Sure, sounds good. You should probably put both base stations in bridge mode and let the router do all the work though. You should also put the base stations on two different channels (I don't know if its auto adjusting in the Extreme model though). If you're not using any 802.11g computers, you might consider buying an older regular Airport Base Station or a third party wireless bridge (that is to say, a wireless access point without a built in router) because they'll be cheaper. I'm pretty sure if you choose the "nearest base station" or whatever it's called option in the Airport prefs, it should auto pick the closest (or with best signal) base station.
