There have been reports about counterfeit ink jet refills. I just purchased an epson color refill (for my 820) from a reputable dealer. Several of the inks did not print out properly and it took a half of the capacity in cleaning before I got decent prints. I am going to ask for a new one.
I wonder if I got a counterfeit one, or an expired one. If anyone wants more info on this, check out this article: PC World article
I am curious if others have had the same problem, and whatthe response has been.

Wow - that's an eye opener! Thanks for the link.
I would say buy ink only from the large chains. (which sucks for the smaller independents but what can you do)
On a side note -
Jeez - I can't believe how fast scams are growing - and they're getting harder to detect. In the last couple of months, I've received three, extremely genuine-looking emails from companies asking me to "update my info". One from Paypal which looked completely legit. One from Earthlink stating that my credit card was expiring and my account would be terminated if I didn't respond within 48 hours. And another from BestBuy which said they were changing their accounting system and my account would be closed if I didn't update my info. Since I don't have a BestBuy "account" it was an obvious scam. All three of these email looked completely legitimate using the appropriate logos and web syles.
(I also received another from Earthlink but it was stating that my Earthlink.com account was in jeopardy. Obviously, a scammer with no concern for details because Earthlink uses a dot net extension.)
The moral is NEVER click on a link contained in an emal to update personal or billing info. (Legit business' will never ask you to do this.) If you need to update info online - go directly the companies web page from your browser.
Buyer beware
