I am looking for a real sweet mmorpg (massively multiplayer online role playing game) for those of you who don't know, for my mac. I am preferably looking for one that I will be able to play my windows friends in too. If not, then I will just settle for one that is only other mac players. So please give me your advice. Thanks in advance.

You should look into Neverwinter Nights. It's not strictly in the MMOrpg class, but you can play online, form parties, etc... and there is a great focus on accurate role playing when you look in the correct server categories that is, in my experience, unmatched by any common MMO game. The servers are compatible between Mac and Windows users, too, which is a plus.
Other ideas would be EverQuest for Mac (which is only for play between Mac players) and Shadowbane. I don't like either of these two though, but I suppose it's a matter of personal taste.

How does neverwinter nights compare to dark age of camelot, if you ahve ever playe dit. I have shadowbane now, and I'm getting ready to cancel my subscription, I'm not to thrilled with it either, i hate the right click to move feature. I will have try neverwinter nights. But everquest 2 is comming out soon, and hopefully it will be compatible between mac and pc. I appreciate your help. Thanks.

I haven't played Dark Age of Camelot, so I'm not sure about that one -- but I did beta for Shadowbane and like you, wasn't terribly impressed with it. After the beta was done, I just didn't play or subscribe or anything.
I beta'd Everquest for Mac, too, and it wasn't bad but it wasn't quite up to snuff compared to the more story-intensive gaming I've always prefered. I'm an old school D&D veteran, and it's not easy for developers to come up with games complex and role-play driven enough to hold the attention of gamers with that kind of background.
I'll have to give Dark Age of Camelot a try, if you think it meets those criteria.

There is a Shadowbane free downloadable demo. Try it out. I been playing since it came out. Fun, but does have some issues. Worth a try if you never played though.

EverQuest is available for the Mac as well, as is Lineage.

I am surprised that there never was a mac version of "Ultima Online" for Mac.... other than that I am hoping for EverQuest 2 and Star Wars Galaxies. But then again, by the time a Mac version comes out (if at all), the PC gamers possibly have 2 new installments already. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif
sigh..... I love mac, but the gaming sector is just FRUSTRATING! /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
