Okay.
With regards to the website you're trying to visit...
What web browser are you using?
Use Safari and try again. If you've been using Safari, chances are that the site was designed to cater to Windows users and has some pitfalls with regards to Mac compatibility. Kahloz.net had these problems, too; the only way to fix them is tireless determination from the admin.

Now, as far as sharing between your Mac and PC.
The easiestway to do this is to follow the instructions Apple provides right within the Finder. Make sure the Finder is your open application. Choose Mac Help from the Help menu at the top of your screen. Search for "Connecting to a Mac from a Windows computer" or "Connecting to a Windows computer from a Mac" and follow the advice which is provided. I'm a see if I can provide it for you real quick...

In reply to:

Use the Connect to Server dialog in the Finde to browse for and connect to Windows computers. To connect to a Windows computer from a Mac, you need to know the workgroup name and computer name for the computer.

You also need to know the name of the shared folder you want to access.

You may be able to connect to the computer as a guest. If not, you need a user name and password.
In the Finder, choose Connect to Server from the Go menu.

If the Mac and the Windows computer are on the same local network or subnetwork, you may see the computer name in the left column.

If you see the workgroup name for the computer in the left column, select it to see the computer name.

Double-click the computer name.

If you don't see the computer, type the DNS name or IP address for the computer in the Address text box using this format:

smb://ComputerName.CompanyName.com
In the dialog that appears, type the workgroup name, if necessary. If you can connect to the computer as a guest, type any name. You do not need to type a password. If not, type a user name and password. Then click OK.
In the SMB Mount dialog, choose the shared folder you want to access.
The folder should appear on your desktop. If you don't see it, choose Computer from the Go menu in the Finder.

Enjoy.

The webpage should be compatible with all platforms, but many times they are not. MS allows for weird web-coding standards that seem to violate any and all known platform-neutral standards. It's one of those "Lets make things work better on our stuff 'cause we can" things, I think... Try using Safari and see what happens.
As far as seeing the PC files from the Mac....why would you need to do this? If you can create a network connection between the two then you can easily transfer files between the two. You should have read/write permissions; use them.

If you're able to see the Mac shared files through your PC then you should also be able to copy stuff to and from both computers. Just use ONE computer to facilitate the sharing and execute over the PC. Drag the files you want on the PC into the Mac shared folder and take them; drag the files you want on the Mac from the PC into the mac shared folder.
It should work fine.
