I bought OS X and Microsoft Office X for my G3 thinking I would be able to import the email data files backed up from my other Mac's (MS Office/Outlook 2001) without any problem, just like on my MS Windows machines with .PST files.
Apparently (after talking to MS technical support) Office X's email application, Entourage, cannot import the data files from Office 2001's Outlook. They told me to "export your email as text or mbox format and then import it into Entourage" .. I can't do this from backups on CD or tape!!
It looks like the import feature of Entourage just looks for an application installed on the local hard drive anyway, and can't be used to point to a data file. The OS X mail application looked similar in that respect.
Does anyone know how I can take the "Personal Folders" files from Outlook 2001 and get them imported into some application on OS X or Office X?
I'm hoping there is some way to get my Outlook 2001 data files (personal folders) imported into the OS X mail or MS Entourage applications. Or at least some kind of utility to convert "personal folders" files into something more compatible ..
Thanks!

This hint from my site might help ... then again, it might not, but I think it covers what you're trying to do /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
