PHP and email

Hello all,
I am trying to use the sendmail application and PHP's mail() function to send e-mail. . I am new to PHP and do not know how to setup the mail preferences. I do have PHP and SQL currently running. I do not need to receive ONLY send.

How do I setup sendmail on Mac OS 10.2.x?
