Streaming Video Websites

Explore Apple's Quicktime site follow some of the channels.
Some sites that say you don't have the plugin work in Safari if they allow plugin bypass. Some sites need Windows Media Player. With Quicktime, RealOne and WMP installed and a few browsers, I rarely come across anything that won't work at all. For any that won't let Safari in, I send a bug report.
Which sites? We'll let you know if we can access them.

The sites that I am talking about are CNN.com. The site says that you must have windows 98,blah blah blah Linux, Unix, and Mac are not supported at this time. Nascar.com's track pass won't allow you to join with a mac. Basically I mean that any site that has a pay subscription to their site for video streaming, Movielink included, require you to be on windows.

Does this mean that you wanted to join, but did not because you thought it would not work? Sometimes Mac users have to think for themselves. Remember Typhoon's post:

Yahoo and CNN streaming media work perfectly on My mac.

That clear and unequivocal. I believe him. I believe the sites want to limit the support they offer. That is why Mac users support one another.
The reasons you may get broken links: the software isn't installed (this you have checked) or the browser doesn't know where to look for it (this is a possibility). I seem to remember an option in IE to add helper applications (or was that Netscape?). If the apps and the plug-ins are where they should be, then maybe IE needs to be given the direction in preferences to go look for it.
So why don't you try Safari?

I was wondering if anyone could get the streaming video on MLB.TV
to work with Safari. I am assuming it is a site problem since I can get it to work with Explorer, but I would like to simply use one browser, and Safari is so much faster for me. I have the latest RealOne player for OSX, but it will not download the feed.

well cnn news pass does work but the nascar racepass does not work. I may not ever buy them or use the streaming services. But I just wish it was available. Also I haven't tested this but yahoo does not list mac as being supported either. Anyone else have any luck with yahoo as their service looks pretty good
