Hi - I have about 20 folders of groups of photographs - which means my iphoto takes a long time to boot up. Is there an easy way to store the photos away and still have access to them through iPhoto easily?

Burn them to a CD or DVD, and then only insert the CD/DVD when you need access to the old photos. Turning off the shadow will speed scrolling, but it won't speed loading.

I believe iPhotoBuddy does what you want. You have several Libraries to chose from, that gives still instant access but much faster response while in one library.

I don't know why you can't set default startup folders in iBook. When iBook first starts up, it loads every single photos into the startup, which seems pretty stupid. I hope Apple adds such a feature in the future version.

Pretty devastating if you have the following equation: Company over Digital Camera to plug in Porn in iPhoto /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
That happened to a....uh....friend of mine. It really sucked.....apparently. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Oops, I meant iPhoto, not iBook. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Anyway, I think iPhoto should remember the last album opened and open that (like iTunes).

Hi Everyone - Finally got a couple blank CDR's - looks like I can BURN all my photos onto 2 CD's. Final Question before I delete all my photos from iphoto: If I want to view an 'Album' off the CDR how does iPhoto handle looking at Photos on a CDR?

On my machine, it took only an hour or so, at the most, to prepare and burn 2,200+ images to a DVD-R. I don't recall exactly how long it was, as I was using the machine to do other stuff at the same time, but it wasn't too bad.

I waited almost 1.5 hours and then gave up. . .

You could also just drag the iPhoto Library from the Finder to a DVD-R and then Burn, but if you have to burn to CD-Rs, then you need to find a way to split it so it will fit on each CD-R...
