Hi
I installed the Sonnet Tempo Trio card in my 8600 (with 400Mz G4) running OS 9.1 and I can't get the Printer (a new Epson 960) to be able to print across the USB connection. I did a custome install of the USB exts as instructed in the Trio's installation sheet.
The Chooser does see the Epson but when I try to print I get an error message saying the system has lost communication with the printer.
I do have a USB Kensington trackball I could try that to see if it works....in the maentime, any suggestions?

Any luck with the track ball?
If you can see the printer from the Chooser (I assume it sees it on the USB port), then the card is not likely the problem. Have you tried moving the cable to the second USB plug on the card? Have you tried a different USB cable?
If these things all check OK, you should contact Sonnet tech support and they'll help you troubleshoot this in more detail.

Thanks! Fixed it but went the long way around.....
I tried to install OS 9.2 on a disk partition after loading 9.0, 9.04, 9.1 then 9.1.2 but OS 9 Helper didn't help me get past the 9.1.2 installer...got an error message to the effect that it was unable to read from the Big Bites folder or something to that effect. From then on I kept getting "unable to install 9.1.2 on this disk...." After my G5 arrives and is set up I may try to install 9.1.2>9.2 on a different disk but I don't want to mess with a new installation right now.
So then I went back to the Sonnet site and got USB support 1.4 after checking my active System Folder and confirming that the USB drivers appeared to be from OS 9.0.
I loaded the new drivers and could then see the USB port as an option in Chooser! A few minutes later I was printing my first output from the new Epson!
