I'm so kicking myself. I got this to work a while ago, and had to rebuild my Windoze machine, and lost everything. Here's the story:
I'm trying to network a very hybrid environment to share files, esp. with the birth of iTunes for Windows. I would also like to share printers, but it's not that important.
Here's what I have:
Pismo 500, OSX.2.8, AirPort card
PowerCenterPro180MT, OS9.2, ethernet
IBM desktop, Win98, ethernet
Compaq Pressario 5441, Windows 2000 Pro, ethernet
D-Link DI-614+ wireless/wired router
Comcast Broadband
Sounds crazy? It actually worked for several months, until I had to wipe/rebuild the Win2K machine this morning. Now, nothing works. I know I'm supposed to do something with SMB for OSX, and something weird with DAVE in OS9, and I have to type something manually for the Win machines to see my macs. But the specifics elude me. Can anyone please help me out? My Win roomies are moaning about how my macs have screwed up their (er, actually my) network, and I want to shut them up and get things going again. Once I get it working again, I promise to document it and share details. And to think, I'm supposed to be trying to get my Sanyo SCP 6400 to act as a modem for my Pismo to get mobile internet connections, but I figured I'd "quickly" reinstall Windows instead sigh.
