OK, I was using safari and my itunes at the same time. I had used my Internet Explorer earlier in the session. When I was done with itunes and safari, I hit my IE icon and when it came up it did not have my preferences(like browser color, favorites etc) and even my desktop was weird(the dock was no longer hidden) I dont know what happened. iTunes and Safari did not crash or anything. Is there anyway to get my preferences back? i just got Panther last Saturday and no problems until today(Thursday) HELP

Questions:
Are you using File Vault?
Have you restarted since this happened?
Have you logged out/in since this happened?
From your other post, what do you see in your user's Music folder? Is your music all there?
Have you run Repair Permissions in Disk Utility?
I don't think your music, or anything else, is necessarily gone. I just think the apps can't see the folders any longer, but I need more info in order to help.

Yep, i was using file vault but have since turned off. I could see my music files, but the way apple help said to fix, didnt. I dragged the folder onto the iTunes window and it copied it. I was using clutter to retrieve album covers from Amazon.com. BUT nothing happened to indicate anything had gone wrong. I did restart before I recovered my music, but that did not help. I looked in my trash, but all that was there was the used jpg images i used from other sites(than amazon) I was gonna do disk utility, but I'm a newbie and that scares me. Safari copied my favorites, but how do I get them back to IE? Hey, thanks for the help
