I bought a Dual 2GHz G5 and it had OS 10.2.7 on it and it had the iLife suite. Well I bought Panther and did a clean install and now iDVD is gone. I have done searches on getting it back but cannot find anything. My G5 came with one DVD Restore disk. Is there anyway to extract iDVD from it??
Thanks
Thanks

Hi
1) Insert your Restore DVD
2) Run the Restore application
- This may place an actual System Restore app in /Applications/Utilities
3) Run the System Restore app. Before actually restoring anything it should give you five choices. Restore All, Applications, Developer Tools, iDVD, and Mac OS 9
4) Just check iDVD and continue with the Restore
That's what I did with my Ti and it worked for me.

Ok I tried it and still nothing. I put in the Restore CD. I tried it two ways. There was Install Mac OS X icon and a Applications Package Installer. I Tried the OS X one and it never gave me a option for the type of install and also with the Applications one it shows Itunes, isync and a few others but not iDVD.

I have a dual G5 and I'm about 99.99998% positive that iDVD is on the Software Restore disc. You have to actually start the restore process, but it should then be there. I'll double-check tonight, but I'm pretty sure this is how I got it back after an erase and install.

Hi
OK...I finally went through the whole thing again to make sure I knew what the heck I was speaking about.
1) Insert the DVD that says Power Mac G5 (<--or otherwise the model of your SuperDrive equipped computer) Software Install and Restore
2) It may auto-launch. In my case there are three things you see on the DVD. There are more items but WAY at the bottom. There is a Read This First (PDF), an Install Mac OS X (Application alias), and an Install Applications & Mac OS 9 (Package alias).
3) Launch the Install Applications & Mac OS 9 package
4) Go through all of the steps...Once you are finished and click Close the Software Restore app should auto-launch and all of your background apps will hide, including the Menu Bar. if not, it is located in /Applications/Utilities and called Software Restore.
5) In the Restore Software, click Continue and enter your password
6) Uncheck Restore All, Applications, Developer Tools, and Mac OS 9
7) Make sure iDVD is still checked
8) Click Continue and finish the rest of the steps
