When trying to play burned cds (not burned by me) using iTunes, the drive scans the CD but doesn't stop. It goes into this stuttering action where I get a "spinning beach ball of death." iTunes doesn't read it and to get the disc out I have to either force quit iTunes or the Finder. This only happens with most burned CD-Rs. Regular CDs play with no problem. Any idea??
Running Jaguar on a 333MHz iMac 192MB RAM.

It could be a problem with the drive that is burning those CD-Rs or it could be that your drive has trouble reading that specific brand of CD-R media.
Are you finding that all the burned CD-Rs you're having trouble with are of a certain brand or were burned by a certain CD burner?
Try burning those CD's with a different burner or perhaps a different brand of media.

At least 5-6 different burners and different discs as well.

Hmm.
I guess that your computer doesn't have a CD burner?
If it isn't just iTunes, but Finder as well that has problems with the burned CDs, it may be that your CD player is too old...

Actually, now that I think of it, its only iTunes. I can play individual tracks using Quicktime no problem.
