When i first got my iPod, I thought cool....until the first scratches showed up with use. Now mine is scratched like crazy, but it still works. Kind of the same as a new car, it is great until someone dings it the first time, then it really doesn't matter anymore. Although from inside one can't tell the difference and it still drives the same. I feel the same about my iPod, as long as the thing works, I don't stare at it while listening to music.
So what is my point? How do you feel about your iPod? Do you care if it gets scratched?

and

are a couple of links to products claiming to be iPod scratch removers. I recall occasional Macworld magazine references to such products too.
I baby my new 30 GB iPod. Half because I don't want scratches. Half because the touch-sensitive controls seem vulnerable. And as I recall the iPod has a short warranty period.

I don't mind scratches, but then again I drive a pickup truck. And pickup drivers know a truck just isn't a truck until it looks a litttle worn and dinged and the bed is scratched all to hell.
So my iPod scratches are a badge of honor.... especially the one when I had my iPod laying on a coat and I dropped a friend off and when he got out he grabbed the coat and yanked it and the iPod went flying. It's about a 4 foot drop from the seat to the ground, and it flew about 5 feet out from the truck onto the concrete parking lot. I about had a heart attack. It was in it's belkin case, but it was one of those with the open face. It took a pretty good nick to an exposed corner but came out running okay.
I'm proud of that scratch!

Actually, this pickup driver is proud that his 8 year old pickup looks brand new - including the bed! Of course, he's the kind of guy who never parks anywhere near another car and made a protective liner for his bed liner ... /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Don't own an iPod but if I did, I'd rather it not scratched.
