I have been trying to find out how to import jpeg files into iPhoto from email attachments or from clip art files. I tried to "copy" while in Mail, and then to paste into iPhoto but the Mail-copy did not "paste" to iPhoto. Or am I doing something wrong? Can you do that with Finder Edit? But then how do you get Finder bar to display on the screen? There must be a way to do this?

Did you trying first saving the pic to the desktop and then dragging it into the iPhoto Library or a particular folder that you created?

all you have to do is just drag and drop them into iPhoto, from the mail, and it just copies accross

Or use iPhoto's import function. Prior to iPhoto, a lot of us had pix strewn all over our Macs. The easiest way to get them all under control was to import. If I'm not mistaken, iPhoto will even search for images using this method. [Edit] Of course this DOES require that you download them to your HDD first.

Thanks to the three who provided suggestions. I am still learning OS X so have made some stumbles. I took one of the suggestions and expanded it and came up with how to handle email jpeg's: I do a Control - Click on the picture and seledt Save To Downloads Directory which saves it to the desktop. Then I Drag it into iPhoto. This was simple to use. Thanks again. RogerC
