Do you think it worth it now ? I mean just right after buying the iPod ... or should I wait 'till my standard garantee is over ?

I went for it seeing as how I got my 20 gig iPod exactly one year ago next week, on my birthday! I still have 4 to 5 gigs free and that should take awhile to fill up. When it does, then I'll look into a new one and that could take a year, which is basically the amount of support time I paid for. I think its worth it for peace of mind on one of my most prized gadgets next to my PowerBook.
