This may be obvious, so it's probably for newbies such as myself. I was using "dumb" playlists sorted by genre, and didn't realize I could easily create smart playlists for the same thing. The key is that you can select multiple tracks at a time to change the genre, so you can sort by artist and then do it. Also, you can define your own custom categories. Now I can just change the genre for new songs added, since I'll usually forget and then do them a bunch at a time, and they'll show up in the smart playlist.
