There have been several threads sharing information about alternatives for the 'banking' functionality. However, I haven't seen any that talk about altertnatives to what Quicken (claims to) offer under the "Investment" tab. Is there anything out there? In particular, we would need something that handles tracking a holding's basis across splits, spin offs, etc.

For Mac OS X users (source: LiquidLedger.com, bold is mine):
"The next major release of Liquid Ledger is currently underway and is expected to be available in early 2004. The upgrade will be free for existing customers and will pack an array of advanced features, while staying true to the simple, uncluttered interface you currently enjoy.
"Here are just some of the features currently in development for Liquid Ledger 2:
Scheduled transactions and reminders
Comprehensive investment tracking tools
Customisable reports
Transaction search
The ability to cut, copy, and paste financial data
Improved multiple currency support
Improved tools for managing groups, including drag and drop
A more comprehensive AppleScript dictionary
* and a whole lot more!"
Keri, I realize you are a Mac OS 9 person. But maybe if you draw a big "X" in the snow on your roof Santa will deliver the hardware you need for a Max OS X upgrade! /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks, wash (may I call you "wash"? /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif ). I'll make a note to look at what Liquid Ledger has to offer in the area of investment management/tracking after the New Year.
Oh, btw ... we won't tell Santa (cuz I would dearly LOVE some new hardware under the tree) but my trusty G4 PB really is up to OS-X. In fact, I have the 'X' in one of my 4 partitions ... I just save my 'X' life for my right-brain work, and boot up in 9 for my left-brain (text and $$) operations.
