Hello all,

Here is the lay-out of my epson USB problem:
1 i-Book with OS 10.0
2 Epson C40S (S stands for silver color)
3 Epson C40UX (no color)
Epson has one driver that should fit both printers, the only difference is the color silver!.
My client has the C40S at his office and the other C40UX at home.
Now when you install the C40S on the i-Book it works like a charm.
Now comes the strange thing.
When the i-Book gets connected to the C40UX the printcenter doesn't recognize it and the printing is over images/icons/confused.gif
I've tried to hookup both printers to the i_Book but however I try I can't make two seperate printers images/icons/mad.gif
The only way it will work is to reinstall the driver each time you switch from location.
This doesn't seem verry logical to me.
I've had the idea to duplicate the driver file and rename it so that the sytem might think they are different (because computers are STUPID images/icons/grin.gif ).
Can anyone shed some light on this Epsonic problem??

Many thanks in advance!!

Ivo.

Perhaps you could create two separate users (one for work, one for home). Set up each printer while logged into each separate account. Pretty sure printers are tracked by user, not globally.

Kluge-y, but it might work.

Damien.

You are using 10.0? Why not upgrade to 10.2?

Yeah, 10.2's printer support is light years ahead of 10.0

Ugh, I remember using 10.0 on my iBook when I first got it. I don't know how you do it. Damn it was sluggish.

There's a fairly recent update for HP inkjet printers on the HP WEBSITE. It fixed my printing problem in iPhoto - for any HP users may be of interest.

I think printing is much Better on osX than os 7, 8, 9. etc.

The old chooser has been showing its age for years.
