I have Canon A80 digital camera, and i cant find the way to download movies which i have recorded with it. When I had my prewious Sony camera it showed memory card on the desktop but canon doesnt!!

Well you could use the Canon software that came with the camera, but I prefer to use OS X's built-in Image Capture application.
Go to your Applications folder and double-click on Image Capture. Your Canon should hopefully be supported natively by the OS, my Canon PowerShot G3 is and my friend's Canon Powershot A70 is.
Turn the camera on (in playback mode) and it should appear in Image Capture. Click the "Download Some..." button and Image Capture will show you a list of all the picture and movie files on the camera. Simply highlight the movies you want to download and click "Download."
There are preferences you can set within Image Capture as to where the movies are downloaded (by default it will put them in your Movies folder) and all sorts of other options that you can explore, but the instructions above will quickly and easily get the movies onto your hard drive.
