I'm taking the same attitude as sj just offered. Although I haven't actually subscribed, I'm sure I will get in on the $49 deal just before my trial runs out. Perhaps I'll be sold on the iDisk by next year and $100 will be justified. If not, perhaps Apple will expand the offerings by then to include an email only plan for some lesser amount. I hope so. Besides, who knows what they'll do in the future. A year ago, I didn't foresee the current pay plan. Maybe a year from now there will be another version that I'm not currently foreseeing. For now, I'll probably bite the bullet one time, hope for the best and deal with next year when it gets here.

We should send some feedback to Apple in this regard: we did it cuz it was $50. Maybe they'll react to that, lower the price or create a pricing tier where current users re-up each year for $50, and new users sign on for $100, and then pay $50 a year.

I'm going to do this in just a minute. If you think it's a good idea, then please follow suit.

Hi
I will before my iTools membership is up. My brother is going to pay $10 a year to keep his .Mac email account. MrTangent, WOW!! That is a lot of domain names. You must be spendid some real dough there. One is pricey enough for me.

I think $100 is worth what they are offering, the problem is, I only want ONE of the features. It's the fact that I can't just pay for the e-mail (10, even 20 a year if the box is a good size) that bothers me. Some of you might find this hard to believe, but $80 a year is a lot to some people, especially when it's for something they don't quite need or want.

I should have clarified my post... I see that now.... hey if .mac works for u go for it. My post was meant for advanced users who understand how hosting works.
Also if you would have read the fine print 125 is to start need more ask ..... I have never had any probs have two sites well over 500mb.
Again for advanced users who understand development ... unthrottled hosting .... ask the poor guys at three dead trolls how they feel as there videos are cut off every month.
.mac if great if it fits your needs, but to me it is akin to an AOL user, you are almost online.
Just no way on earth I would pay. Just an opinon mind u, but I have been around the hosting game way to long for this.
For the converted OS X users on broadband connections and need for a low traffic site, host it yourself ..... This is a Unix port remember. images/icons/cool.gif

I must agree. I have cable modem and I do all my hosting in house. Created a cool site with a neat photo gallery and my family can log on anytime.
