Since upgrading to 10.2.8, I've found that intermittently, when I select Disconnect to disconnect from the Internet using an internal Apple dialup modem, the modem status window shows "Disconnecting..." until I shut down/restart my G4 iMac. A look in the kernel panic logs shows that everytime I do this, it causes a kernel panic. I think too many kernel panics finally manifested itself in a blue screen of death on my iMac, which I could only fix by going to the Unix command line and removing the preference to Automatically Connect to the Internet (this problem is listed in Apple's Knowledge Base and was the only way i would have attempted this--I normally would never go command-line in Unix). But even in leaving the Auto-Connect preference off, the disconnect problem has started again. Any suggestions? Many thanks in advance.
