I think this new Font Book application is cool. I just stumbled upon it yesterday. I wanted to add a few fonts and used Finder>Help>Mac Help to learn "how to add fonts." That's when I learned about Font Book. I just clicked on the fonts I wanted to add and a new window appeared with my font and asked me to install. That was it, it was that easy. I guess this is one of the many new items added to OS X Panther. My questions are:
1. How in-depth is Font Book?
2. How does Font Book compare to other font management software such as Extensis Suitcase X1?
3. In Font Book, there are little black dots next to some of my fonts, it looks like it represents duplicates. Is this what it means? If so, how do I remove the duplicates?
4. Is there a book, or some other guide, available for me to learn more about Font Book?
Thanks

Once you've launched Font Book, use the Help menu for more info. You'll find most of your answers there.
I've been using Font Book as a replacement for Suitcase X1 since Panther's release. Although it's missing a few "production" features, my experience has been very favourable so far.
