I've heard great things about Norton Systemworks and Techtool Pro. What are the differences between the two and which is best for Panther. Someone told me that it is a good idea to have both. Is it worth having both? One last thing, what does Disk Warrior do that Norton/Techtool doesn't? Thanks!!!!

DiskWarrior - directory damage. Essential, no other utility does it as well or virtually error-free. But that is ALL it does.
Norton Utilities - everything else - currently faster than TTP4.
That could change, however, if MicroMat continues to improve their product.
You need DW and either NU/TTP4 .......
if not, at least have DW.

The OS X Forum FAQ is a good place to start (second item). Although written for Jaguar, experience tells me it's pretty good information concerning Panther too. TTP 4 is a very good utility, but slower than molasses from the CD. It works great from an external hard drive though.
