iMac 1ghz fan noise

Hi
I haven't had any real experience with the G4 iMacs but so far, except for the slot load G3 iMacs with no fans, I've never heard of an Apple desktop machine that has fans that turn completely off, outside of a shutdown or sleep. I would say that under proper conditions the fan(s) will run real low but won't be completely off.
