Dual G5 or Not...

The current Dual G5 line up is pretty sweet, for what it's worth. I love my Dual 2GHz G5. It rocks! That said, as with any new Apple announcement, expect there to be at least a month delay in getting the new machines out (remember when the G5's were first announced and the delays surrounding their shipping?). If you can wait it out, that's what I'd recommend. If you need a machine now, then go for the Dual 1.8GHz model for the best bang for the buck. Welcome back to the Mac! /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You can see the difference on the XServe pages at the Apple store. The "master" machines come with CD-ROMs, 1gb of RAM, and OS X Server Unlimited. The nodes come without a CD-ROM (no need to install software on a node), 512mb of RAM (they don't need as much, as they're not acting like servers), and only a 10-user OS X Server (because the machine isn't serving anyone, actually).
For all that, you save $1,000...
