Have been using Safari mail for months...then this morning all Of a sudden I can't send mail...but I can receive it. I checked my outgoing mail settings...they are fine...(I can still send with the same settings from Netscape mail so my ISP did not change anything). Doesn't make sense to me.
When I try to send mail the message says:
The sender address was rejected by the server.
Any help GREATLY appreciated!!!!!

When I click on Outbox....the mail I tried to send is there...when I click on it...a screen pops up...
when I select the server option it indicates that the server choice is the .mac outgoing mail server which is not the outgoing server I used to send it from.

When an email sits in the outbox, generally indicates that the original send was failed. When this is the case, Mail attempts to resend using an alternate account, in this case .Mac. The error message you listed seems to suggest that the SMTP server you're using requires the return address for an email to match a certain account. Did you specify the correct return address in the email address field of your receiving account?

Yes....the email address is correct....and as I said I send everything sends fine with all the same settings in Netscape mail....
deleted plists and re-installed Apple mail....A test run...it is now sending...hopefully it'll stay that way.
If anyone else experiences this and finds a solution...please post.
