I'm running Panther now and just downloaded the iChat beta. I've already read all the posts about the incompatability of iChat with AIM. Sucks, but oh well. Next time Apple should just wait and get it right the first time, 'cause right now it seems all we have is a text-only application. Anywho....in the meantime I tried an audio conversation with another Powerbook user. We're both running the exact same setup, except he has iChat 2.0 while I have 2.1. Our problem is, he can hear my voice but I can't hear him. He says the quality is great and I'd really like to find out for myself. We've both checked all our sound pref's, system pref's, and iChat pref's, and they are the same, but we still can't carry on a 2-way audio chat. Is 2.0 not compatible with 2.1, or vice versa? That would be a Microsoft mistake. Any thoughts? Thanks.

2.1 is a beta ... Apple released it to find just such bugs. I've also found I can't paste images all that often (works rarely, fails most of the time). But heck, that's what I get for playing with a beta. Reverting to 2.0 solves all the issues.
If these problems exist in 2.1 final, then we'll have something to complain about. Beta = pre-release code...

in one of the drop down menus you 'can' revert back to 2.0
