I recently purchased a Sonnet Tempo Ultra ATA66 card that was located in a bargain bin computer store that was clearing out older peripherals. I have yet to install the unit in any machine. Would I see any appreciable speed gains if it wee installed in any of the following:
1- Beige G3/266 Mini-Tower
2- Graphite G4/400 AGP
3- G4/1.25 Single MDD
Im assuming one and two have older drives while the third has a ATA/100 drive unit. Does a separate card offer any advantages over over the built-in ATA features of these computers?

It should do more for the Beige G3 since thats only got a real slow ATA16 controller in it. I'd put it in that. The other 2 already have good speed ATA built into them.

Putting it in the Beige would yield the best results. AGP G4 has ATA 66 already, and the final G4 models have ATA 66 and ATA 100. Putting the card in the G4's would be of no use unless you plan on cramming a bunch of hard drives in them.
