Sounds good to me; I should be there, though perhaps just a couple minutes late. Can you email the server info again when you know it?

Okay. Anyone who wants the server info can e-mail me at jsnell@macworld.com; I'll also post the server info in this thread an hour or so in advance of the game starting.
If you already e-mailed me, I'll include you on the list with the info.

I'm still happy with Halo for right now, but perhaps down the road....

And be sure your copy of Halo has all the latest updates installed, or you won't be compatible with my server.

Ah...man...I've got the update, but haven't installed it. It's my understanding that once the update is installed, you must use your CD everytime you want to play Halo. Is this correct?

That's correct. MacSoft made the change due to the rampant, online piracy of Halo that was going on shortly after the game was released.
It's a minor annoyance. Most of the games I've played recently have required the CD to be present in the drive. In fact, when I first got Halo, I instinctively popped the CD into my machine every time I wanted to play. It wasn't until days later that I realized that it (originally) didn't need the CD to run.

Thanks Argent, never dawned on me!! I guess I'm showing my age (40+ yrs)...hehe...well now, in order to "get after" some of my favorite magazine folks, guess I'll have to do the upgrade...
With all the traveling I do, it's just nice not having to hassle w/ CDs...DVDs that's another story /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I had a GREAT time tonight.. we hit my 8 player limit.
We will try to do it again in the future... hopefully on a dedicated server.
Watch this thread for more info!

Looks like we will try again, on the hosted server (meaning up to 16 players!) this coming Sunday at 7:00 PM PT, that's 10 PM Eastern. We'll have the server up for at least 2 hours, maybe more, but I can't promise to be there longer than about 90 minutes.
That means that, unless something comes up, you can pencil the latest Macworld Halo Shoot-em-Up in for that time.
Server info:
66.205.210.64:2300
password is macworld
Also, if there are any Warcraft III fans out there, we could try and play that sometime too if you want. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

It seems that the Fro and Fagneto were out and about when they should have been at church [what would Durandall think]. In any event Enormous Fro and Fagneto were impressive. Especially EnormousFro. Obviously the years in cyro weren't too much for him to handle. I suppose it could be the upgraded {MJ} armor. I have heard rumors from the staff that the details of the C}} configuration could use work. Specifically that the offense/defense portions of CTF are not as exciting as a standard C}} match.
I have provided you with coordinates in the event you wish to visit me. Please keep note of them as it i:] be40;.'ng increas87gky diffi9{[t fr5 m33333 ]t co0un!cate a[][`] [3]0934 []; [p= ]3][
