Medal of Honor

Hi,
I would like to know if Medal of Honor requires a CD or DVD drive to install/play. The allied assult version makes no mention of a DVD drive, but the Deluxe edition (with Spearhead) says a DVD drive is required for play.
Also, I would like to know if Allied Assult would work ok on an iBook G3 with an 800 MHz processor and 384 RAM?
Thanks for the help!

I don't have the Deluxe version, as I've gotten both the original and the expansion pack separately, but Aspyr Media has begun using DVDs to publish its games whenever appropriate, partly as a means of reducing the number of discs they have to manufacture, and also partly to dissuade casual pirates from making copies of the games (they figure that the larger capacity of DVD disk images might be a hurdle for users who might otherwise publish the games over peer-to-peer file sharing services).

canaryman:
That entirely depends on which 800MHz G3 iBook you have. Early ones shipped with 16MB VRAM. That's insufficient for Medal of Honor. Later ones shipped with 32MB VRAM. Those should work. Apple System Profiler will be able to tell you how your iBook's equipped if you don't already know off the top of your head.

Last bit of advice I'd offer is to buy the game straight from Aspyr. Many people don't know this, but Aspyr offers a money-back satisfaction guarantee on games you buy from their e-store directly (not from their games purchased through resellers -- that's up to the individual reseller). That way if you get the game and it doesn't run well, or you just decide that it sucks, you can get your money back without a big hassle.
