Hey what's up with Apple for the past 2 or more weeks? They put back that old G5 homepage and haven't launched anything new for too long in my opinion...They've spoilt me in recent years with the great surprises on their homepage from time to time but it seems like EVERYONE is out of ideas...What's interesting though is that their stock seems to be rocketting steadily...27.31 last time I checked....Where's the revenue coming from? Is it G5s or iPods...notebook focus hasn't exactly been existing recently...I need something...Last new release was Filemaker Pro 7....I'm really hungry now Apple...blow me away in traditional style come on... /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

You know I have been trying to find out my self what they are comming out with next. I have been also waiting for a change in product, store front and home page. For some reason they are laying low and seeing how far the G5 and ipods will take them. Come on MAC lets see the G5 Titanium. I know they have something sick in the works.

Yeah, I flagged my calendar to start watching Apple's homepage on March 22. Nothing! After all the hints that seemed to be floating around. The Mac's 20th birthday and such. I think when it finally happens it will be big, but who knows when?

You see the thing is, something's gotta be seriously in progress in the background...some serious groundwork to make a ground shattering release...I also think with the overwhelming success especially with iPodmania on the rise still...they're trying to maximise offers and ipod-related products and services so that profits can multiply...I JUST WISH I KNEW SOME OF WHAT THEY WERE DOING SO DILIGENTLY. Someone please spill the beans on my plate... /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I sure wish they would get some updated G5s on the market. After all, they need to have 3 ghz by the end of summer or our God is a liar...
However, I think it is pretty obvious they have a lot in the works right now.
Powermacs need speed update quickly. Also, look for a switch from AGP video cards to PCI-X. Faster superdrives are now available and should be integrated into the G5 line pretty soon.
Powerbooks may get a small speed bump and minor improvements, but the G5 update needs to come soon. Though they already have an aluminum frame, look for a design upgrade to signify the new processors and such.
Monitors have been out for a long, long time. This design, as elegant and simply beautiful as it may be, is going. Aluminum is probably coming.

The new G5's are probably coming out soon, as they are quickly getting out of date. I also have been looking twice everyday since march 26th for new upgrades to anything, and have been very dissapointed. My hopes were on the march 27th memory sale, that has been extended to june /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif . New monitors would also be nice as they are aging, and there is a monitor sale, however, with the new 23" , IMHO i don't think that aluminum ones would be pratical for apple. I do hope that Apple upgrades it's notebooks soon. I have been waiting for upgrades to finally get a mac of my own.

As for the stock price, most of the analysis right now is on the the iPod/iTunes combo. It's not contributing much right now to Apple's bottom line, but downloadable music is the current Next Big Thing, and Apple has the early lead right now. I'm reading some analysts coming out of the woodwork now claiming that Apple is overpriced at the moment, that 25 or 26 is where it will settle soon.
Tech companies will be posting quarterly numbers soon. The market will be very interested in G5 numbers. Apple's margin is much higher on computers than on iPods or Minis, and some good news in that arena might solidify the market position (or might cause a spike and a subsequent sell-off). Recent news that Dell is going to be cutting the price on its MP3 player doesn't bode well for Apple's stock price.
