Already did this. It had been doing nothing more than occupying space for months.

9.? . It has been a memory for about 9 months. I don't have or use any classic apps. 10.2 has made it final I think, at least for me.

I'm still a little nervous to remove it, I haven't used it for months but if I figured the day I remove it is the day I'll need it.

One of the of these days I'll work up the courage.

If I remove it how hard is it to install since Jag is installed. I thought you needed to install OS9.2 before OSX,

Mike

I removed OS9 and one month later, I erased OSX and reinstalled OS9.

The answer depends entirely on one's individual situation. In my case, I have several analytical programs I use occasionally that are not OSX native (some not even carbonized), so I will be keeping OS9 around for some time yet (even though I work in OSX most of the time).

I'm sure I'm not the only one who uses OSX as their default system (and has since it's release), but who literally needs OS9/Classic for at least a few essential tools/programs. Just as my Linux box still has a Win98 partition, for those few things I still to run that are windows-only (or at least don't work well in WINE). Choice is good images/icons/smile.gif

I keep it around for troubleshooting only. Booting into 9 is often the easiest way to fix a problem in X. I've also discovered that occassionally, an installer needs 9. Case in point, when i downloaded the installs for Dreamweaver and Fireworks, I needed 9 to run the installer.

its worthless unless you have a app that does not run in X yet, I have not used OS 9 on any of my home computers for over a year.
