It seems that for the Mac, software manufacturers list processor class as a system requirement, more often than they do Processor speed.
For instance on the adobe website, Illustrator and goLive, list system requirementsas G3,G4, dual G4, dual G5. Am I to believe the program will work just as well on a 233Mhz G3 as it would on 2Ghz dual G5??

They never say how well it will work, only that it will. I have the same OS's and Apps on a G3 266MT and a G4 DP800 and while they both work the G4 is more productive.

most any software will work on any g3/g4/g5 CPU (unless it has special CPU instructions). How fast it will run, well thats another story.

I've found that the Processor speed does indeed play a role in the software's performance, but Adobe products, along with the Macs, diffenently love RAM. I'd fill up the G3 with memory if its not already. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
