I see no one responded. Does anyone else use iChat?

I'd like to, but I've got all my addresses in Entourage, and there's no way to export them into the Address Book.

RIGHT? (that's a real question!)

sure you can transfer your addresses. Just export your addresses out of entourage and save as vcards. Then import them in addressbook app.

To export your Entourage addresses to Apple's built in address book, just click on a contact in entourage and drag it to the desktop. It will make a vCard that address book can import.

I've been playing with iChat a bit, and it's quite nice. However, if I try to synchronize my Buddy List with contacts from my address book I receive errors. For example, if I select a buddy and choose 'Get Info', it asks me to choose a corresponding card from my address book to complete the information. When I do this, it DOES complete the Buddy information, but I'm given the following error:

Uncaught exception:
NSInvalidArgumentException
* +[NSArray arrayWithObject:]: attempt to insert nil

Any thoughts?

horhaus: That sounds like a stupid bug. Basicly, iChat is trying to tell the programmer that they forgot to do something. Don't worry about it, if it works it works.

Thanks for the tip's reguarding Entourage, and the address book!
I just selected all in my Entrorage address book and draged it to a new folder on my desktop and all the vCards were created, then just draged vCards to OSX Address book. images/icons/grin.gif

There's a lot of things missing in iChat that I like in other IM programs. No profile, few security options, limited features, bugs (try to send a file and connection is dropped), ...

I don't think this was ready for release yet.

They also need an IM number notification in the dock that shows the number of all unread IM's, not just the number of initial greetings. It looks good, but I'm hoping proteus and its multi-service client overtakes it.
