All of a sudden when I try to retrieve my mail with Entourage, the program shuts down with a message that says - this program has unexpectedly quit.
has anyone had this problem? What do I do? It was working fine until today!

I had a similar problem a while ago.
I downloaded my e-mail with the Apple Mail instead of entourage and after those e-mail's were cleared off the server entourage worked fine again. I don't know what caused it, but that fixed it. I'm guessing that there was some kind of corrupted e-mail that entourage did not like.
I also tried a data base rebuild first but that did not help ( option button while starting up entourage).

There were some reports awhile ago that a particular form of spam email caused Entourage's Junk Mail Filter to kill the program. You might try temporarily disabling it (Tools menu) and see if you can download those messages, then move on.

or at least knock the level down to below the halfway mark. That helped me to beat the entourage problem
