"Laserwriter 8 cannot be used due to an internal error -43"
That happens every time I go to print on my Powerbook. It is a Powerbook 3400c 240MHz 603ev PPC, 3GB, 80Megs of RAM, Mac OS 9.2.2 (Thanx OS9Helper). It has been happening even in the day of using Mac OS 8.5.1. When I put OS 9, I did a clean install and it worked once and then it went back to that error. Here is what I have done...(Got off a web site)
Restart the machine (or start it, if it's already off) and hold the SHIFT key until Extensions Off or Extensions Disabled is displayed then release.
Delete ALL desktop printer icons.
Go to File / Find and search for any files with the same name as the printer you were using when you got the error, and delete them.
Browse to Macintosh HD:System Folder and delete the PrintMonitor Documents folder.
Browse to Macintosh HD:System Folder:Preferences and delete the Printing Prefs folder.
Empty the trash and restart the computer.
IMMEDIATELY press and hold COMMAND-OPTION-P-R until the computer chimes at least 3 times.
Once the machine finishes starting up, reselect the printer (via Chooser) and try sending a print job.
No luck. Can anyone be able to help me with this? Thank you.
Mike

I'm using 8.7.3 but it came from the InDesign install CD. The latest version 8.8 will work or you can get the one you had from the Install OS CD.
