Ok I'm trying to figure out hopw to do thios and I can use some help. I want to take a screenshot of my Desktop. In XP it was hitting the Print Screen key, which copied it to the Clipboard. What is the Mac OS X equivalent of that?

Pressing command-shift-3 will take a picture of whatever is on your screen at the time.

Pressing command-shift 4 will pause everything and allow you to select, using the mouse, what portion of the screen you want to capture.

In case you don't know, the command key is the one with the Apple on it.

If you open Grab, a program in your Utilities folder (under Applications), you can do additional options like a timed screen shot.

Awesome, thank you that was just what I was looking for. Funny that it saves it as a .pdf.

It's a new iBook, and I'm a true Switch type, coming to the Mac after about 15 years working on PCs. I'm going to need lots of help like this. images/icons/grin.gif

This is the place to go for stuff like that.

Mac OS X used to save screenshots as .tiff files...I don't know why they changed it to PDF.
