My bank will only export a qif file. How do I import it into Quickbooks without having to create a separate Quicken file and try to reconvert from that?
Thanks!

That is my understanding also. No, no luck with the Mac version of Quickbooks. My PC counterparts love their version, so, at this point, I have given up on Quickbooks and am hobbling the business on Quicken, which I can at least share with my PC laden accountant. It is my distinct impression that Intuit is not committed to the platform, so that is the extent of my committment to Intuit.

This is an official Intuit forum. There is a wonderful book out called "Inside Intuit" which says the basis of Intuit's success is how good they are with customer feedback. Everyone here is an Intuit customer. Most of us seem to be asking the same question. How do we import transactions into Quickbooks Pro 6 on the Macintosh? We now it is possible because Aatrix payroll does it.
Why has no Intuit customer service employee answered this question? Perhaps the latest version of Quickbooks is going to solve this problem and they don't want to let the cat out of the hat (although that makes no sense as this single feature lack seems to be driving customers away).

I got an answer to our questions about quickbooks pro 6 importing on the q/a site of the author of "Quickbooxs pro for macintosh visual quickstart guide" (an excellent although basic book).
On 8/6/2004 at 8:34:16 AM, you asked the following question on Maria Langer's FAQ System:
"What is the easiest way to import transactions (of the intenet banking ,QIF kind)?
1. Have a copy of Quicken also and convert the Quicken files to Quickbooks as needed?
2. Have a copy of MYOB and convert as above?
3. Have a copy of Quikbooks Pro 2004 for Windows and use its ability to get the data and then convert?
or
Is it possible to piggyback on Aatrix payrolls ability to import transactions into Quickbooks pro 6?"
Maria has posted the following answer to your question:
Quicken for Windows does not support QIF anymore. Quicken for Macintosh does. Both support WebConnect; that's the best way to import online banking transactions if the bank does not support direction connection into Quicken.
QuickBooks 6 for Macintosh does not support importing transactions at all. You cannot "piggyback" transactions with Aatrix payroll.
I hope this answers your question.
