Registering FCP2 on Panther, impossible?

I just got a new G4 laptop and went to install FCP2 so I could then install the FCP3 upgrade and run FCP in OSX. I installed FCP2 running classic mode, but couldnt open and register FCP2 in classic mode because the FCP2 needs to boot up the OS9 disk to run. I need to register FCP2 to install FCP3, but I cant becuase I cant run FCP2! This is driving me nuts! Is there any way to just register FCP2 in OSX so I can move on to FCP3 and get on with my life?

Please help, I dont want all the money I invested in Final Cut Pro to be totally wasted.
