Hello,
When I select to print it sometimes takes up to 4 minutes for the print dialog box to appear. I have no idea why it should take so long. It happens in just about all of the programs I use from Outlook Express 5 to Adobe Illustrator 10. I am running the adobe PS 8.8 software, OS 9.2.2, iMac G4. Any ideas why this is happening?
Thanks

You forgot to mention which printer you use. I'm not sure about OS9.x, but in OS8.6 you could change the Preferred amount of Memory to the Printer Extension to jack up the performance of printing large files. It especially work well with Epson vs HP printers if you had the RAM to accomodate it.

How large are the files you're printing? You may need to add more RAM to your printer. I know that speeds up print spooling, not as sure about time to bring up the dialog box though.

Try the basics of downloading the latest driver for your OS and printer.
Also try trashing any printing preferences. Could be a corruption there causing long loading times.
