Don't hold me to this, but I don't think you can. You would need to burn it onto a DVD. Even then, I think it would be the wrong format, so your DVD player may not read it. Like I said, I may be wrong. Anyone else have any input?

this thread should be moved to the proper forum. where it already exists. many DVD players will play VCDs, btw.

Ooh - has anyone found out how to burn 690MB to a "700MB" CD-R without Toast or compressing the file yet?

You don't have to burn a VCD to DVD to get it to play in a DVD player. That's why the call it VCD--b/c it doesn't go on a DVD. What would the point of using VCDs be if they had to go on DVDs? Anyway, the DVD player must be able to play back VCDs. That's a feature built into all new DVD players, even the cheapo ones.

Sorry. I did not know that. I don't have any VCD's. I thought they were only for the computer.

You could probably just do burn it in Finder, but if you could get your hands on any version of Roxio Toast or Roxio Toast Lite then that would be more comfortable.

You will need Toast or some other application that can burn VideoCDs. That is a distinct format and will result in your movie being compressed to the required format. You will lose quality but they will play on a DVD player that has VideoCD capability. Just burning the movie file to a CD with the Finder will not work.
