I've got a new powerbook and am trying to keep it sync'ed with the G4 I use at work. Being new to mac's, this has proved to be a bit of a challenge thus far.
I've figured out how to mount the drive via firewire and holding "T" down on the powerbook while booting, but haven't figured out if there is a program to keep my address book, mail and certian folders sync'ed between the two. Any help here would be great.
Thanks,
-S

If you go to macupdate.com or versiontracker.com, and search on "file sync", you'll find lots of programs that can do it. The thing to watch out for is to avoid making changes on both machines between syncs, or you won't be able to sync without blowing away one set of changes or the other.
I don't like to wait for restarts, so I just network the machines with wired or wireless Ethernet, open the sync configuration I saved (specific folders and files), and hit the button. I'll use FireWire only if I want speed. (Note to the experts: No, one of my Macs doesn't support TCP over FireWire.)

I should of mentioned that speed is an issue. I'm usually transfering 10gigs at a time.

Then FireWire is definitely the way to go, for speed, so if your Macs support it you can try TCP networking over FireWire, unless you don't mind the extra steps for target disk mode.
