We just recently set up a Network in our house, so we currently have two computers running OS X (10.2.8). I've been looking for good games we could play over the network. (Preferably free? Maybe...? It would be nice.....)
So what games are good for network play?

StarCraft is a cool game. Kept me hooked for months. You need to install it with OS 9 though. And then get an update from www.blizzard.com that lets you play it on OSX. Halo - It's an expensive game, something like $50 but it's worth it. Just read the gaming pages in Macworld. They have reviews and everything there.

Thanks for the plug. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
As far as Starcraft goes, Blizzard said it's working on a Mac OS X-native installer, so you won't need Classic to get the game installed forever, either. They didn't offer a release date for that, but just recently offered an OS X-native Diablo II installer, so things look good.

Yes I think Apple's paying some businesses to start developing their products to be native to OS X. This is just some kind of cheap way to have Mac users buy new system software, or...like most Apple consumers do, pick up the computer, throw it away, and go buy another one /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It's an interesting theory, but it doesn't wash with reality. If Apple was seeding money to developers to create content for OS X, no one would be developing anything for OS X without waiting for a handout from Apple. No, in this case and others, it's just the developer (Blizzard) doing the right thing for the right reason.
