Does anyone else have problems with non-default Firefox themes? Whenever I use a theme other than default, the scrollbars go all googly-moogly (industry term). The page and icons generally work fine, but I've noticed on at least one theme that the history menu embedded into the "back" button does not pop up, either.
I had had these problems on Firefox 0.8, and now that I've downloaded 0.9.1 it's still there. I realize it's a sub-1.0 release, still, but just wondering if anyone else had observed this problem, or had been able to successfully deal with it.

i was having these problems until i switched recently to v.9. Currently I'm using Noia 2.0 (extreme) on 10.2 and it seems to work properly. i saw a listing somewhere before (i think on these forums) about themes that dont have problems, but i dont remember what they were. have you tried Noia?

Well, Camino is good and fine DP, but lkalliance may like Firefox for the many features that Camino lacks (such as themes, ad-blocking, other extension provided capabilities).
I tend to find that restarting Firefox after a theme change is necessary, otherwise you get some funny things happnening.

Doh! Sorry, I didn't mean to post for a particular Mozilla product-forum, just was trying to point them to the Mozilla Zine where they can get a response from a developer ... I use Firefox also, and have loaded a dozen extensions to it.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys!
I tried Noia (thanks, thombo) and had better luck, and it's an attractive theme. I also went and tried Camino 0.8 and I liked it a lot; I find it faster on my machine than Firefox (at least for now) and I like the look and feel.
It's still annoying that each of the major browsers has a glaring weakness for me (recognizing that "glaring weakness" is a function of an individual's usage patterns and needs):
--Safari has slowed down considerably on my machine. I still feel there is some kind of system overhead building up that I can't find. Clearing caches, turning off features, rebuilding permissions, nothing I've tried has gotten Safari back to the speed it has on a fresh OS installation. I've not heard this complaint from anyone else, so I assume it's a problem unique to me. Also Safari lacks a keyword-and-parameter bookmarking schema that I've found invaluable on both Camino and Firefox.
--Firefox has the usability issues I've mentioned in this thread. I recognize that now that Noia theme has been suggested, that functionality is OK, but if I'm going to stare at a browser all day (I do), it's got to look like something I WANT to stare at all day. It also doesn't connect reliably to my personal finance site.
--Camino looks good to me, is the fastest of the three (in my experience), and has most of the functionality I want. When I upgraded to Panther my copy of Camino 0.7 ceased to work correctly, and I converted to Firefox. Now that I got annoyed with Firefox 0.9 I saw that Camino 0.8 was out and tried it and I like it a lot so far. But I saw a link to an article about Dashboard here this weekend that had some very interesting things to hypothesize about a new coalition between Apple, Mozilla, Opera and others; Camino is Mozilla but was never mentioned in the article whereas Firefox was, and I'm a tad concerned that Camino would be left out in the cold. Yes, I know I can use multiple browsers, but dang, I want to be able to use just one! /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
--OmniWeb is currently too danged slow for me to use enough to come to any conclusions about its UI.
--I've found Opera to be the least forgiving in rendering sites. I've just never gotten along with it, ditto Mozilla and Netscape.
--And the one browser I really just don't like, IE, does one thing superbly well that I like a LOT, and that is form navigation via keyboard. Safari has gotten much better but is still not as good as IE, and Camino and Firefox don't do it well at all, unless I'm missing something. Every so often I find myself using it (it helps to have my wife stick her fingers in my ears and for me to yell "lalalalalalalala!!!!!" while I'm doing it.)
I'm still waiting for that perfect browser!
