For regular system maintenance on my Dual G5 / Panther, I use Onyx for most jobs. However I still use the last "freebie" version of Cocktail (can't remember the rev. number) for its "turn off delayed acks" feature - I wish this were part of Onyx's repertoire.
Both of these applications normally require the entry of an admin password when launched. However I noticed something interesting this past weekend - if I launch Onyx & enter my admin password there, quit, then launch Cocktail, Cocktail won't ask me for an admin password at all. In fact, Cocktail won't ask me for an admin password again until I reboot my machine and launch it before Onyx.
Anyone else notice this?

Cocktail / Onyx: Admin Password Oddity

No but something strangely similar. About a month ago, when I launched Cocktail, it began asking if I wanted to add the password to my Keychain. I okayed it around the third time it asked, and since haven't had to enter it. OnyX continues to ask for my password each time I use it. Oddly, the same version of Cocktail on my wife's iMac has never asked if I want to enter its PW into Keychain.
