Anyone know if Stuffit will extract multiple part .rar archives (sometimes labeled as .r01, .r02 etc) that are designed to self extract with a .exe file? If not, is there a utility that will do so?

Well, the thing is, the .exe is the first part of the rar archive. It usually goes (.exe, .r01, .r02) or something like that, but the .exe file is part of it. Anyone know how to handle files like this?
I guess to get some idea if it works, could you take a Stuffit file that was made self extracting for Windows (not .sea) and drag it over Expander to open it?

Urk. I don't know if that'll work.
See, a .exe is a Windows/x86 binary. It HAS to be run on a computer with
1) Windows APIs
2) An x86 processor (any processor from Intel or AMD)
The Mac has neither- it has UNIX and Mac APIs, and a PPC processor.

Except that in this case, what you have is basically a RAR file with a bit of extra code added to allow it to self-extract on windows. Stuffit Expander generally just ignores this code, and expands it as a normal RAR file.

Try renaming the .exe extension to match the extension of the other files in the .rar and then open with Stuffit. I ahve found occassionally it will open to reveal its files.
