Hello.
I am having Entourage X issues. I have multiple email addresses off the same domain. I successfully set up my first email address (set as default) me@mydomain.com. Can send and receive messages with no trouble. I then tried to set up my second domain several times, support@mydomain.com, and when I try to send and receive I get 'a connection failure has occured Error: -23012'. I would normally think it was my hosting company but then why would one email address work and the other not? The settings are all the same, and have been using Outlook for years, setting up these exact accounts, etc. so it is not like I am new to this. Does Entourage have some strange thing where you can't set up multiple email addresses from the same domain? I can't imagine so, but have no idea at this point. I have gone in to check my spelling, deleted the account and established it again, double checked settings and rechecked again. I am ready to pull my hair out. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have had no problem using Entourage X to send and receive mail on more than one account at the same domain; in fact I believe I do it with multiple usernames on five different domains (ISP, personal domain, business domain, Hotmail and .Mac). The "Sending mail" information in Entourage's Account dialog should be identical for all those accounts. For Receiving mail, the eMail address, accountID, and password differ by username.
Error -23012 is an Authentication error in aPOP3.
Honestly, if you are having trouble receiving as well as sending it suggests a typo someplace: accountID (check case) or password, and re-check the "Advanced receiving options" between working and non-working account). Try setting up one more new Entourage Account with the info for the balky connection; try connecting to it and it alone (to make sure it isn't some lingering unterminated connection opened by the send-and-receive all schedule.)

You could also configure your Entourage account so that you send mail through a different SMTP server, such as your ISP. The "From:" address of the mail remains the same, either way; but sometimes is easier, such as when I am sending "From" a business address whose SMTP server is difficult to access from outside. But this doesn't effect inability to receive (POP or IMAP?)

Also, if you have never done so, be sure to download and install latest Miscorosft updates to Entourage X (at least the v10.1.2 combined updater .)

I was able to change the SMTP server on the one support@domain.com email addresses to my ISP's relay. It works fine that way. The weird thing is that I can use my domain's SMTP for all other email addresses off that domain, except support. I even took an account that was working, and just changed the mailbox, to eliminate a typo problem. Still error.
info@domain.com as well as lore@domain.com works A-OK. I don't get it. But I am glad that it working, however it wants to work.

Has anyone else experienced the new "feature" of Entourage 2004. Apparently if you are on a public LAN (wifi hotspot or hotel room), and try to send an email message using SMTP authentication, Entourage will give you an error....saying it cannot support that method of authentication. I checked on the Microsoft forums and several others had this problem too. One person had sniffed on the ports and noticed that Entourage didn't even try. Sure enough, I have experienced this when trying to connect from hotels. The work around seems to be to use POSTFIX and spoof it, but that seems very illogical.
