Mac to PC iChat AV possible???

I am having problems using iChat AV with my sister who is a PC user. I know iChat works on my computer as I frequently video chat with another family member. The only difference is he is a Mac user.
I have a powerbook G4 running 10.3.3. I use an iSight camera and iChat 2.1. My sister is running windows XP and using AIM 5.5. We both are on DSL lines although I have a home network with a 2 Wire home portal going to an airport base station. My sister does not have a home network. She has turned off her firewall as the AIM site said that may be a problem but we still can't connect. Whether I send an invite or she does I always get a "does not respond" message. What is up? Can anyone help??

You have to initiate a video chat to either video/audio chat with a Windows AIM user.

try it plugged directly into the DSL modem.
I've had troubles going through a wireless that occur randomly.
