I'm about to purchase a flat panel LCD... probably 17" - 19"
The Apple Studio displays look nice, but can anyone tell me why I wouldn't want to get a cheaper LCD from Viewsonic or Dell. I'm using a G4 800 mHz
I'm a graphic designer, so color is fairly critical..
Thanks

Apple generally has the best color scores with its LCDs, so that might be their selling point for you. Other than that, Apple's displays also have built-in ports for other peripherals. Personally, I went with a Formac 20.1" which was significantly less expensive than an Apple display. There's nothing wrong with third party displays other than the things I mentioned above.

Nothing wrong with others, though the Apple ones have a reputation for reliability.
My neighbor has a 7 year old Apple flatscreen...
